The new 911 911 GT2 RS was introduced for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Britain from 30 June to 2 July.
The advanced performance sports car is powered by a flat engine with two 700 hp (515 kW) turbochargers. With a weight of 1,470 kg with a fuel tank, the light coupe accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds to a maximum speed of 340 km / h.
With its nearly identical propulsion technology for race cars, the new 911 GT2 RS with a rear-wheel drive surpasses previous generation power with a 3.6-liter engine with 80 horsepower (59 kW). With a torque of 750 Nm (+50 Nm).
The engine is based on the 911 Turbo S engine of 3.8 liters with a capacity of 580 horsepower (427 kW). To improve its performance, Porsche used two large turbochargers to push more air into combustion chambers. It has also adopted a new additional cooling system that provides optimum cooling at extreme pressures and splashes air-cooled air coolers at very high temperatures. This approach reduces the heat of the gas in the range of excess pressure and ensures optimum power even in extreme conditions.
The specially designed GT gearbox – consisting of seven clutch gears (PDK) – allows for power transmission in the new 911 GT2 RS without any interruption in payment. In addition, the specially developed exhaust system is made of very light titanium material. It weighs about 7 kilograms less than the 911 Turbo and generates an interesting sound.
For the first time ever, Porsche Design celebrates this advanced sports car with a special watch. Referring to the world of motorsport, the 911 GT2 RS was exclusively reserved for new car customers.
